This is not a complete list of the lids accepted, but it should help to guide you on what food and drink lids we can accept.
Plastic Bottle Caps, including milk bottle tops, are accepted on our scheme and passed to Tendring Primary School. They are then all sent to ReWorked via their SchoolCycyled scheme to earn points which the school can trade for items made from recycled materials. They have so far purchased a garden planter and also a playground bench.
They are currently saving to purchase more benches like the one below for the children's' playground. Your help in collecting plastic tops/ caps and lids would help them recycle and earn more benches.
Accepted Lids : Almost every type of plastic lid is accepted, however if it fits into one of our other schemes then we would prefer it there. For example, pringles lids should go with the tubs into the pringles scheme, face cream tube lids should stay with the tube and go into the personal care scheme.
Plastic bottle caps & rings
We also accept plastic lids from jars like marmite, lids from things like coffee cans, from deodorants and shower gels, and from tubs like margarine, hummus, icecream etc. please do not send the tubs unless certain these are accepted under a different scheme. Metal lids MUST NOT go into this scheme. Please keep them separately.
